Ahavat Hinam is a supergroup of Jewish educators and musicians Max Jared (Dallas TX, USA) and shannyn.art (Melbourne, VIC, Australia) who create sacred moments using music inspired by Judaism, pop, rock, love, and social action. Max graduated from HUC-JIR with a masters in Jewish Education in 2016 and Shannyn completed her Bachelors of Education (Primary) in 2018. Since their formation, they have performed all over the world, from New York to New Zealand, and launched their debut album, “Oconomowoc,” in 2019.
Shannyn and Max (formally known as SHMAX) created a spiritual singing community in Melbourne, Australia called HAVAYAH and now serve the Australasian region through their online learning platform, Pagoda Online Learning. They create and distribute Jewish educational resources, offer online Hebrew and Jewish Studies courses and facilitate sacred ritual when they are not walking on the beach, or creating new, funky Jewish music that moves you.
